The Asco 96 series of liquid ring vacuum pumps offers a robust and efficient solution for generating a deep vacuum (up to 33 mbar absolute) in demanding industrial environments. Both the Asco AVM 96 and the Asco AVL 96 are designed for continuous operation and excel in handling wet processes and vapors thanks to the liquid ring principle and virtually isothermal compression.
Both models share the same core hydraulics, resulting in identical performance curves with a vacuum capacity of up to approximately 102 m³/h. They are also available in the same high-quality material combinations(cast iron/RS 316 or all stainless steel 316) to meet various chemical resistance requirements. The crucial difference, however, lies in the construction method, which determines which model is best suited for your specific installation.
AVM 96: Focus on Compactness
The Asco AVM 96 is the monoblock variant. Pump and motor form one compact unit, with the impeller mounted directly on the motor shaft. This leads to minimum installation length, ideal for machine builders or situations where every centimeter counts. It comes standard with an efficient direct-coupled motor.
AVL 96: Maximum Flexibility
The Asco AVL 96 uses a lantern piece construction. An intermediate piece with a flexible coupling connects the pump to a standard B5 flange motor. This construction offers ultimate flexibility: you can choose a motor that meets specific requirements (brand, specifications) or is suitable for special environments, such as ATEX classified zones for which the AVL 96 is certified.
So choose the AVM 96 if compactness is a priority, and the AVL 96 if motor flexibility or ATEX compliance is required. Both guarantee the reliable vacuum performance you have come to expect from Asco.
